Delivering true solution without taint, exposing the true roots of His gift to His suffering children as they were divinely presented back in 1935.
I had a very interesting conversation this evening with two new friends. Richard Burns (Dick B.) and his son Ken have been working together for the past 19 years digging up treasures and have authored over thirty books packed with facts about the original Alcoholics Anonymous. Understanding these facts, it is easy to see why there was such a high success rate in early AA. The original program principles came directly from the bible, just a few of God's many gifts found in His word written specifically for us, His children struggling with the sin of idolatry. Yes, to seek comfort from a substance rather than from God is idolatry. God's word and the power of His Spirit, is the only way out of spiritual bondage. The facts about their findings (clearly explained in their books) are a very powerful addition to the curriculum at our facility. These history books will give those recovering within our facility a better understanding of the importance of the spiritual aspect of the deliverance process. They add support to the most significant ingredient, the healing power of God. Spiritual problems can lead to emotional and even physical problems. One must truly understand that spiritual problems require The Spiritual Solution, Jesus Christ.
We, as a treatment facility want to make clear what we believe about the AA program. AA has been around for over 75 years and God has changed many lives through this divine gift. It has a powerful purpose and works well when properly understood and practiced. The sad truth is that it has changed a lot over the years and along with these changes, so has its success rate. The tools of AA are exactly that, just tools that point to and support the True Solution. When properly understood, they clearly point to God. When I hear someone share words such as; "I get the program, I just don't get the spiritual part," it saddens me. They are missing the most important part, the Foundation early AA was built upon. Simply put ......... all freedom requires some level of forgiveness, and without Jesus, there is no forgiveness.
Many thanks to Dick and Ken for their great efforts in adding clarity to truth. My prayer is that God will bless their efforts and use them to lead many confused alcoholics and addicts back to Him.

Our alumni events are a special time of thankfulness and praise for how God is working in the lives of the people going through our program. At these events we have praise and worship, a recovery message, baptisms and testimonies. We also "send off" and congratulate those that have successfully completed the program. If you are a family member of someone currently in treatment, or if a family member is planning to come through our program, we hope we have the opportunity to meet you!
For those of you who have "graduated", remember that recovery isn't limited to 30 days! Rather, it's an ongoing process for the rest of our lives. Remember to stay connected to us as a part of your network. We are here to support, encourage, lift up and embrace you at this place in your recovery, no matter where you are!

The 12 Steps from a Biblical Perspective Series
Steps 1-3:
From Powerless to All-Powerful in Christ
by Dr. Robert T. Tucker
As we prepare to take a deeper look at the 12 steps, the most important thing to remember along the way is that Jesus loves each of us, regardless of where we came from or what we’ve done. He understands exactly what happened, where things went wrong and wants to help us become healthy, productive members of His body. He wants us to come to Him for help just as we are. When we submit to Him, He changes us, little by little, from the inside out, one day at a time. Only in measures of what we put into this process called "recovery" will we get out of it. Yes, it does require effort.

Embracing True Identity
by Stephanie Tucker, MDAAC, MMin.
Codependency takes on many forms and symptoms. (To learn about the symptoms of codependency, click here) One of the most challenging areas lies in self-identity. Most people who struggle with codependency have a difficult time seeing themselves from a healthy perspective. They are often prone to overly focus on the needs of others, while unknowingly disconnecting to self. Instead of being free to live the life that God intended, they get worn down, burdened, guilt-ridden and overwhelmed by a sense of responsibility. Life becomes a constant race to try to accomodate and meet the demands of other people and circumstances. Song of Solomon 1:6 describes a young lady suffering from this very condition. She says "They made me caretaker of the vineyards, But I have not taken care of my own vineyard." It is truly a sad situation when in our efforts to seemingly help others, we are unable to care for ourselves and even lose ourselves. If this describes you, take some time right now to pray and ask God to begin to work a process in you that will connect you back to who you are. While this article is intended to provide some guidance, it is truly only the Guidance of the Holy Spirit that can bring you through the journey of embracing true identity.

THE 6 P's
by Robert Beaupre, CDAAC, MMin.
It seems we love acronyms slogans and jingles. Actually, they work quite well to remember certain things, especially in times of sudden stress. We’ve developed the 6 P’s with real live clients over time, and hope you’ll like them- but never have to use them.To read full article, click here

Ron's Story - "I once was lost, but now I’m found"
It was a Tuesday afternoon and there I was standing outside some strange house on Atlanta. I knew I was losing the battle and soon to become completely lost. I didn’t have a chip on my shoulder, but despite the fact that I knew I couldn’t find my way, I also knew I did not need help. I could do this on my own. I had successfully beaten back drugs, tobacco, and other bad things in my life and I would defeat alcohol in no time at all. I just had to determine that I wanted to quit and I would. Jason's Story - "There is Hope"
Just as I hit rock bottom and I thought there was no hope in my future to get better, I found a place that changed my life in ways I never thought possible. I became addicted to prescription pills, gambling, and whatever else made me feel good inside. I never knew I was running away from things inside. I always just thought that I was getting high just to feel good and that I never had a problem. I thought people never knew that I was using because I though I was playing it off well, since they never said anything to me. Then one day things were so bad. I lost my job, car, girlfriend, dog, lots of money and friends. I was suicidal. I was always brought up never to take my own life, but I was to the point where nothing mattered. For full testimony, click here

Words of Life
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. A Closing Thought
I Surrender All
(Lyrics written by Ruben Studdard)
All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In his presence daily live.
I surrender all, to you Jesus I surrender all, all;
All to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All I have I give to You
I surrender all to You
I'll do what you want me to
I'll give You everything
I surrender all to Jesus I surrender all
I give my self to thee
Fill me with a love and power that your blessing follow me
I surrender all
To you Jesus I (I surrender all)
All to thee, my blessed Savior
I surrender all
P.S. If you believe your pastor or church leader would benefit from this newsletter, including an understanding of recovery from a biblical perspective, we urge you to please pass this on!
